Does anyone ever get a certain ‘chill’ when a performance lines up just right? I mean something beyond just the notes being right and everything being completely in tune. I believe that sometimes there is an unexplainable spiritual element to music that connects the audience and all those involved in performing. I have felt this way, most recently singing Beethoven’s 9th with full orchestra, but I’ve also felt this way in certain silent moments in cafes and practice rooms. Sometimes I believe it to be echoes of God’s voice, but it is a hard feeling to explain. Has anyone else ever felt this way and do you have a name for it? Discuss.
